Holding and Letting Go
Illustrated flags
Holding and letting go was created for The Matchmaker Project at
Jerusalem Design Week 2026.
The project originated from a conversation with Beitar Nordia Jerusalem supporter Noam Biton, exploring questions of identity, belonging, and community through football fan culture. Inspired by the club's values and visual heritage, I designed a series of four contemporary flags that use familiar symbols through a language combining Jewish iconography with the aesthetics of football ultras.
Rather than illustrating the club itself, the project examines how collective identity is shaped through symbols, rituals, and shared memory.
